Commission work for *LQCTim of his character Ambiri.
Ambiri is an anthro snake with a different approach taken. She has no tail.... cause that kind of makes her look more like a lizard than a snake and she has both legs and arms. The request was for her to be on the Q-bert platform and making eyes at Coily.
You remember Coily? That damn purple snake that chased you all over the place while you were simply trying to change all the squares to the same color? That's the guy.
Fantastic! This turned out better than the concept I had in my head. Ambiri's dynamic pose really makes this picture. I like how she has one leg off the ground and her hair is in mid-bounce. That particular hairstyle looks great in motion for some reason. Very good work on the pleated skirt--those can be kind of tricky to draw. Actually, most of what Ambiri is wearing here is somewhat difficult to draw. Glad you didn't lose your mind trying to color those rainbow socks! Thanks for once again giving me some serious bang for my buck. And now that Coily's occupied, Q*bert can really get some work done!

Yeah, that was really fast. And I really appreciate that now that I've seen how long other artists can take. Like that jerk who offered three sketches for his 4000th pageview back in December and still hasn't finished any of them. Oh, wait. That was me.
I'm surprised that such a simple-looking, geometric background was more troublesome than those multicolored socks, but I've certainly gotten bogged down in a lot of things I thought were going to be easy but turned out to be much more complex when I actually started to work on them. You can't always tell.
And good point about a tail making her look more like a lizard than a snake. Now that I think about it, it probably would. And I definitely want her to have features that differentiate her from Turja (who, for those reading this that haven't seen her, is a lizard).

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
