Description

A long overdue commission for :icononiellsgal: of her character the dragon sorceress Danielle and her lover the human knight Sir Wisby facing off against the dreaded swamp wyrm.

This one is overdue but I tried to make up for it by really pushing my coloring skills a bit.

Hope you like it. It's got lots of dragonny goodness!

Sorry for the delay in your promised critique, I was going to do one of your more recent pictures but then I realised no of them had critiques enabled. So, I delved a bit deeper into your gallery and came up with this little gem So, let's begin, shall we?

First off, I have to say I love the colouring on this. You've really extended yourself and it shows, especially in the water splashes and on the serpent's body. I noticed that you didn't use 'comic book' heavy black lines this time, which is a change and looks great. The lighting is also spectacular, especially the differnce between the blue tones of the moonlight and the red tones of thespell. The lighting really draws attention to the serpent's head, which I think is the best (and certainly the most detailed) part of the piece.

I can't really find anything thats jarringly bad in this picture, which is another good point in it's favour, but there are a couple of small things I'd like to point out. The human's face, while well shaded, has one eye slightly higher than the other - partially caused by perspective, but a little too much and a little too far apart, as well. The decorations on the staff are a bit wonky and could do with a bit of reshaping and strightening, which goes less so for the handle as well. Finally, the moon in the background looks a little rushed, especially as the rest of the picture is so detailed.

These are very minor details, though, an nothing that really affects a truly fabulous peice of work Awesome stuff!
